Xenia Rose Schafer

Xenia (Sen-ya) Rose Schafer is from Battle Creek, Michigan with roots in the Republic of Panama. After graduating from Western Michigan University in Graphic Design and Marketing she spent 20 years in the Metro Detroit area. During the last few years she has been fulfilling a life-long dream to develop her oil portraits of people, besides her watercolor and acrylic works. Currently, she resides in southwestern Michigan and Higgins Lake where she paints from live models and murals. She is also a Co-founder of Los Artistas of the Great Lakes, and Workshop Chairman of a volunteer organization at Battle Creek Society of Artists.

About Me

artwork

This is my oil painting of a "Mermaid Going Home". It is up to you to figure out if she is coming from or going to the sea. Thank you Christie Boles for modeling. This portrays my favorite times of day - sunrise or sunset.

As an artist, I strive to be true to myself and the visual representation I invest my creative energies into. Representational art and abstract are both venues that I use to express this inner energy with oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting. Each media has a unique character that I consider when deciding what media to employ to enhance the meaning of the subject in my paintings.

Specialties: Painting people, places, and dreams on canvas, paper, murals, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and oil painting.
