Patricia Baker
Patricia Joyce McGregor Baker, born on February 9, 1945, in Detroit MI, is a multi-talented individual with a lifelong passion for art and creative expression. Raised in Detroit, she attended George Washington Carver School and Northern High School, where she discovered her love for doodling, crafts, and various artistic endeavors such as enameling, crochet, macrame, and rug hooking.
Education played a significant role in Patricia’s life, as she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Wayne State University in Math Education and Education Administration. She dedicated 34 years of her professional life to teaching math and serving as an Elementary School Administrator in the Detroit Public Schools before retiring.
Despite being primarily focused on her teaching career, Patricia’s artistic spirit never wavered. She is a self-taught artist who works with various mediums, including pen and ink, markers, acrylics, and watercolors. Her artistic journey took a serious turn in 2018, at the ripe age of 73, when she began exploring painting more extensively, constantly seeking to define and refine her artistic style.

In addition to painting, Patricia is also an accomplished beaded jewelry designer and writer, For years, she has created intricate and beautiful jewelry designs, finding solace and satisfaction in working with patterns and colors. The process of beading, painting, and drawing serves as a therapeutic escape, allowing her to let go of stress and expectations and fully immerse herself in the present moment.
Patricia’s artistic pursuits have brought excitement and fulfillment into her life, proving that age is no barrier to creative expression and personal growth. Through her art, she strives to infuse life with beauty, inciting others to appreciate the present moment and find solace in the creative process.
