I'm the Collections Manager at Kingman Museum, now named Kingman Collections. Former AccessVision Videographer, Technical Aide, and show producer, and past Meyer's Toy World Salesperson. Studied Journalism at Western Michigan University.

"I went to school to be a journalist, but I've been a storyteller all my life. Whether that story comes from walking the police and fire beat, from filming an orchestra concert or presenting information about prehistoric animals, I work to make any topic interesting, educational, and accessible to everyone."

About Me

I wear dual hats with Be A Water Hero! Exhibit. I selected and made educational labels for water-related artifacts loaned to the Art Center from the Kingman Collections from a whale baleen to staghorn and brain coral to the invasive species of Zebra Mussels.

I am also the curator of the display of water-related action figures like Aquaman and the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a ruler called Namor, of the people of Talokan, who live, work, and play beneath the ocean's surface, which is threatened when vibranium is detected in their watery home.

Aquaman

The son of an Atlantean woman and human lighthouse keeper, Arthur Curry grew up to have a host of superpowers including super-strength, breathing underwater, and communicating with sea life. A founding member of the Justice League and King of Atlantis, Aquaman fights alongside with wife Mera and partner Aqualad to protect both the surface and the seas. On Sept. 19, Aquaman celebrated his 82nd anniversary, having made his first appearance in More Fun Comics #73 in 1941. Actor Jason Momoa will reprise his role as the hero in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, set for release on Dec. 20.

The film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced Namor as the leader of the undersea city Talokan in the Gulf of Mexico, reimagining him as the first of Mayan survivors of Spanish colonists, his name being an abbreviation of “El Niño Sin Amor” (“The Boy Without Love)”. In the comics, Namor’s origin parallels Aquaman’s, being the son of an Atlantean woman and human sea captain. A member of the original Defenders and occasional Avenger, Namor briefly even managed his own environmental corporation in the ‘90s. Namor’s first appearance in Motion Picture Funnies Weekly #1, released in May 1939, makes him one of the earliest Marvel characters still in existence, predating every other hero.
